How the AI text enhancer deblurs text

Text becomes unreadable when messaging apps recompress screenshots, camera autofocus misses a document, or scans lack resolution. Characters blur together and lose edge definition. Lumenfix redraws the blurry letters with a generative AI model so they come back clean and legible.

It processes the whole image, so chat threads, papers, whiteboard notes, receipts, and product labels keep their layout. The AI can still shift the paper color, restyle a font, or add a small mark that wasn't there, so compare the result with your original.

Dual-tier flexibility: Standard is the lower-cost option for quick legibility checks; Pro provides up to 4K high-resolution output ideal for slide presentations, cropping, and sharp physical printing.

A readability aid, not a copy of the original: the AI draws each letter from what it can still see, so it can get some letters or numbers wrong, and it can add lines or marks that weren't in the image. Always check names, amounts, dates, and codes against the original.

Blurred text images that unblur best

Screenshots from messaging apps and software, scanned papers and reports, classroom and meeting notes, store receipts, product labels, and posters or notices. It works best when the text is soft but still partly readable. The heavier the blur and the smaller the text, the more letters and numbers it gets wrong.

Crop to the target text area first

If you only need a specific paragraph or label, crop away excess background before uploading to concentrate model detail.

Use original uncompressed files

Whenever possible, upload the original screenshot or camera capture instead of low-resolution thumbnails from chat apps.

Ensure balanced lighting and contrast

For faded thermal receipts or pencil handwriting, photograph under bright, even light and retain the color photo.

Check copied text word by word

Copy text reads both your original and the result and highlights words that disagree. Check every highlighted word, and every number and code, before you paste the text anywhere that matters.

What unblur text won't do

  • It cannot reveal text that was intentionally blacked out or pixelated. Censored content has been stripped of data, and any characters rendered in those areas would be fabricated.
  • It cannot serve as legal or financial proof. When characters are severely degraded, subtle shape misinterpretations can occur (e.g., an 8 rendered like a 0, or a B like a 6). Always verify totals, codes, and names against original documents.
  • It doesn't create Word documents or editable files. You can copy the text out of a result, but the copied text can carry the same mistakes as the image, so check it against your original.
  • It never retains your files permanently. All uploaded files and enhanced outputs are automatically purged from our servers after 24 hours.
